Sile Seoige - Vintage glamour shoot !

Prior to christmas this year we got together to do a shoot with Sile Seoige as planned by Fiona Coyne of Heaven Scent. We were working on showcasing some fab makeup and hair looks and of course it wouldn't be like us at a  'Boudoir Girls'  not to break out the dress up box!!
The shoot took place here at the Studio in Headford and we were kindly given the classic car by Costello's of Corofin which added to the look of the Vintage theme.
We started the morning with tea and chats while Fiona worked her magic on the lovely Sile. Lots of girly giggles and much tea was drank when Michelle Forrestal then set to work on Sile's hair.
I have to say Sile was so fun to work with - with all the  preening, pulling, fixing and dressing - she was so cheerful and energetic all day nor was there any hesitation to try out something different from  her usual looks. She has amazing bone structure and brown eyes to work with so we knew even before meeting her she would look jawdropping.
We had all fallen in love with the idea of a Hollywood Starlet meets 'lana del Rey' Vintage glamour looks. We also wanted to oomph it up with a 'Sin city' looking shot in the car for fun! All different themes but equally fun to shoot. So many ideas so little time...

Look one was Vintage makeup looks with the lighter lips and curled hair.

Look two was more 'Lana styled'  with the eye makeup more elaborate and the hair bigger in a  'bouffant' . This was shot through the chandelier on the stairs here at the studio.

Look 3 was more daring..amazing eyes, blood red lips, Chinese dress and wig. Total transformation! We had a custom made set for this one with the chaise long and chandelier.

Look 4 SIN CITY! : This is one of my favourite images of the set ..the mood the makeup the expression it all came together and Sile pulled it off so well.
I had such a great day with all the girls on this one - Someone 'up there' held off the rain for us amidst the dodgy weather conditions which was such a blessing!

Sin city inspired shot...I thought I'd prefer this in BW but something draws me to the colour version even more!

2013 What a year!

As with everyone at the moment all running around recovering from all the excess food and drink at Christmas I have been slow to update the blog here as I have been shooting so much and trying to catch up on my domestic duties! (The christmas tree is still up and annoying the hell out of me now!)
2013 was a mixed bag of fabulous hen parties, sassy boudoir shoots, some baby shoots and a few promo shootswith the lovely Sile Seoige, Shahira Barry and  Danny dowling to name a few.  I partook in 2 shoots myself ; a large dose of my own medicine but it was great fun. I have to say I enjoyed being pampered and having a few nice pics to show the grandkids when it all goes south! (Steampunk with Sean Mc Cormack, makeup by Theresa Danaher of Makeup Flair)
and Pin-up with Jenn M - Square shooting in Vegas Makeup was by Lynn Vaseck )
Its lovely what a spot of retouching can do do to make you look your very best ! ( I am a fan)
I also managed to find the time to renew vows with my hubby of nearly 16 years in a cute and naff ceremony in Vegas... cheesy music and all.
On a sadder note we lost an amazing friend of 15 years just before christmas which was a huge wakeup call to how fragile life is really and how we should appreciate every moment. Whats more we can also appreciate all the memories that photographs capture whether happy or sad. Our own life diary.
Christmas can be such a hard time for people on so many levels. We all run around trying to have everything perfect but at the end of the day none of it matters without the ones you love.  We ended up with great intentions to shoot a nice family portrait but amongst the chaos and cooking of turkey etc I ended up just staying in my 'leopard onesie' all day long and the kids in their PJ's instead of the fancy dresses I had planned. We ended up with the quickest remote pic ever ! Oh well - dinner was lovely and  I guess we will have a giggle at that family shot for sometime!

Pic with My Brother, hubby, mum, brother in law, sis, godson and nephew and of course my two 'babies' who are growing up too fast! Happy New year everyone lets hope its a good one. x

Lisa' s fun Boudoir and Pin-up session

Lisa's fab mom recently purchased a Boudoir Girls voucher as a gift to her daughter. As Lisa was booking in for her new fab tattoo (by Nancy L. Klein of Galway bay Tattoo) we decided to wait until it was done to do the session. Her favourite type shots were leaning toward the retro pin-up and some classy boudoir images. She applied her own makeup for the shoot and hair was done by the talented Laura Murphy . Four of her amazing family and friends (some also former clients you may recognise)  popped down to share in the fun and support her. We had a  great giggle shooting for the afternoon and had plenty of outfit changes to mix up the styles a bit.
We all have our favourites from the images and at least she will have them forever too! Well done girl you were amazing ! Here is a peek at some of the shots from the day.

The stunning Ms Vicky has been wed since this shoot happened last summer  in Carrick .
Check out The Courtyard Apartments  here  for some great accommodation and also for our joint packages with the amazing Kelly O' Dowd Makeup artist. (her site here)  She does a superb job on makeup looks for every era and style with her team.
Joint package details here: http://www.carrickaccommodation.ie/boudoir-girls-hen-party-package/
Carrick is such a fun town for Hen parties and there are Cruises available after your hen activity to make it extra special!
We can bring any of our themes to you: think Circus, Burlesque, Retro housewives, Pin-up, Sailor girls, Airhostess, Beach party or come as glam as you like!
These ladies laced up their corsets and were a treat to photograph in the apartments!

Home and Away Hen!

I shot a fun hen at  The Clayton Hotel recently - It was all perfectly orgnaized by Johann for her friend Emma. We had the run of a lovely conference room at the hotel so plenty of space for shooting and having fun! We mixed the theme with a bit of Home and away and  Summerbay beach shots. Here are a few snippets of these fab ladies.

Tammy's 80's Hen at the Courtyard Apartments

We had a blast with these ladies on a recent shoot in Carrick on shannon. They all came in 80's attire and had an amazing makeover with Kelly O' Dowd and her team. We shot some funny images in the comfort of the CourtyardApartments so they could listen to their favourite tunes and have some refreshments. Tammy and the girls (including the very glam moms and aunties)  rocked their shots in all their coloured gear!

Ms R's Hen at the Bentley

Here are some snapshots of a recent shoot in the Bentley  (The Bentley Café Bar - Club - Live Venue ) in Galway.  Mark was the organizer of this hen party with Posh fizz Hens for his bud Rachel and I have to say they were a fun bunch! They posed along to their favourite tunes after an amazing makeover by Theresa Dahaher at Makeup flair Roisin Derrane  and Makeup  and Susanne Dolan Makeup
The colourful 'Mocktails' which were kindly hand delivered by the Bentley staff were put to good use too in the shoot.
We had lots of space to play around in this venue - it was great to see the lads getting stuck into the fun with the gang!
